Argegno - Lake Como

Argegno, Lake Como Famous tourist centre, Argegno is situated in an ample inlet of the western side of Lake Como and has a mild climate also during the winter. The beautiful panoramic position offers the sight on the lake, from the promontory of Bellagio until Nesso. Of Roman origin, Argegno owes its name to the consul Publio Caesium Archigene. The suburb of Argegno was part of a defensive system that extended to the ancient villa of Lenno and to the island Comacina, in order to hinder the passage of the invaders.
