Gravedona, Lake Como Gravedona is one of the most important touristic centers of Lake Como. It is on the western shore and it has a wonderful panoramic sight, in an attractive bay near the Valley of the river Liro, in front of the peninsula of Piona and the Legnone Mountain. It has a mild climate in winter and refreshed by breeze during the summer. In the Middle Age, Gravedona was a free Republic, also protected by its position between the lake and the mountains. Today it still preserves narrow streets and stairways, old houses with ancient front doors. The traces of the period of shine are witnessed by romantic churches. The old town centre leans out on the beautiful lake-front walk, that invites to pleasant walks along the lake. For ones who love sports, there are equipped areas as the town beach with two swimming pools, the sport center with tennis fields, the soccer fields, the track of athletic and many bicycle trails, the green area for walks, lifepath. For the ones who love peace, the beaches, the town beach or the romantic walks on the promenade in front of the lake will offer moments of relax. For the fun of the more young people there are amusement arcades, discos, pubs.
