Mezzegra, Lake Como The small town of Mezzegra, formed by the fractions of Azzano, Giulino and Bonzanico, has the particularity not to touch in its territory the bank of the Lake Como. One time this area was famous for the good taste of the bread, nowadays it is famous for the tragic end that Benito Mussolini and Claretta Petacci found, because they were shot in 1945. In the fraction of Giulino, in the house of Giacomo De Maria it is still preserved intact the room where the two tyrannous lived their last night.

It has 2000 sq.m of garden, equipped with garden chairs, tables and deckchairs. It has an excellent view which reaches as far as the Bellagio peninsular and the surrounding mountains. It was the old residence of the Countess, who loved to spend her holidays here at the end of the XVIII century. You can enjoy a wonderful panorama from the heated swimming pool (12 X 5.5 m). Each flat overlooks the pool and has an excellent view of the lake. You can have lunch or sunbathe on the terraces without going down to the swimming pool, which is lit up at night, thus creating an unforgettable scene and atmosphere. Nine flats of various sizes are available, all fully equipped with hydromassage tubs or showers, dishwashers, microwave ovens, telephones, satellite TV, safes, laundry service with tumble dryers, sauna, aroma therapy and hydromassage. Top quality furnishings. Animals are not allowed. Private car park. The residence is about ten minutes on foot from the centre of Mezzegra. Five minutes from the residence is the beautiful Villa Balbianello di Lenno, surrounded by wonderful gardens. It is located on a part of the peninsula known as the Dosso d'Avedo with an enviable view over the lake. Villa Balbianello was used for various scenes of the film "Star Wars" in 2002. We are in one of the most beautiful parts of the lake, where you find villas belonging to VIPs, leading members of the worlds of fashion, show business and finance. This area, called "Tremezzina", has a particular microclimate which makes both the summer and winter seasons very appealing, with mild temperatures for 10 months a year. You can take ferries from here to all other lake locations, nearby Como and the noble Lugano with its casinos which liven up the night life. It is ideal for those who wish to spend a peaceful holiday in a beautiful place near the beach, but above all near the most important Renaissance villas on the lake: Villa Carlotta, Villa d'Este, Villa Balbianello, Villa Melzi, Villa Cipressi, Villa Monastero and Villa Olmo.
