Sala Comacina, Lake Como Sala Comacina is one of the most distinctive places on the western shore of Lake Como between Como and Menaggio In the last century this pretty little village was already considered to be an important holiday destination, as is demonstrated by the many villas scattered along the lakeside which were built as holiday homes for famous writers and wealthy families. Villa Rachele that belonged to the family of Cesare Beccaria is an example: it stands on the promontory and is very famous for the many literary figures that stayed here, among them Alessandro Manzoni.

Finestra sull’ isola belongs to a residence of only 20 apartments set in an elevated position within a quiet sunny location, sharing a lovely swimming pool (12 x 4 m) overlooking one of the nicest parts of the lake : Isola Comacina.
The residence is located in Sala Comacina, one of the most distinctive places on the lake, on the western shore of Lake Como between Como and Menaggio

In front of village you can see the only island in the lake, 'Isola Comacina', accessible by boat.
Here you can visit the small Romanesque style church of S. Giovanni and the even older church of Sant’Eufemia which dates back to the 11th century.
Just a short distance from here you can visit Villa Carlotta, with its wonderful botanical garden and the statue of Canova inside.
The village offers restaurants, where you can taste typical lake dishes, shops, boat, ferry service and a few cafés.
The exclusive sandy beach of the Lido of Lenno is nearby, popular in the day for beach lovers, and popular in the evening for its nightlife.
Finestra sull’isola is situated on the first floor and has a nice balcony from where you enjoy the lovely firework display that lights up the whole lake, in occasion of the San Giovanni festival that takes place every year at the last weekend of June.
It’s the ideal place for whoever is seeking for peace and relax thanks also to the mild climate of this area, close to the lake and the most important villas of the Lake like Villa Carlotta, Villa d’Este, Villa Balbianello, Villa Melzi, Villa Cipressi, Villa Monastero and Villa Olmo
