The Residence IL GIARDINO DI BELLAGIO is at Bellagio (village of San Giovanni), known as the pearl of Lake Como by Americans and English, who are both much loved habitués of these beautiful places, still for the most part unknown. Privacy is still respected here, unlike in other places. The area has not been invaded by mass tourism and this makes Lake Como and Bellagio absolutely unique. The American actor Brad Pitt recently bought a wonderful villa here right on the lake, where he comes with his Hollywood friend George Clooney to spend long holiday periods away from the spotlights and chaos of Los Angeles. If you decide to spend a holiday at Bellagio, you risk bumping into celebrities from the world of football, show business and fashion at the baker's or newsagents. George Clooney recently declared in the American press and on television that he loves Lake Como and has rediscovered him and the values he believes in, in the beautiful lake scenery. The residence is everything we have said up to now. It is just over a kilometre from the centre of Bellagio, and surrounded by the colours of its 1200 sq.m of well tended gardens. We are about 200 m away from the lake and from 3 pebble beaches only frequented by residence guests. There is a restaurant and a shop 200 m away which sells tobacco, newspapers and grocery goods. It is ideal for those who wish to spend peaceful holidays, but at the same time be near the facilities of the village of Bellagio. The residence is itself also unique and consists of five very large flats (100/200 sq.m) with different layouts. Each flat has a table with garden chairs, deckchairs and a beach umbrella in the garden. They are tastefully furnished with top quality furnishings, with pale relaxing colours similar to those of the lake landscape. There is a dishwasher, satellite TV, hairdryer and washing machine in each flat. Shared ice machine available. All flats have fairly good lake views. The climate is mild in the winter and cool in the summer. It is an excellent place for setting out on trips on the lake and in the green valleys through the surrounding mountains. The flats have independent natural gas heating. Garage on request depending on availability at no extra cost. Wi-Fi connection available at no extra cost).

TOWN OF BELLAGIO Known as the "pearl" of the Lake Como, Bellagio is the most famous place on the lake. Its particular conformation has enchanted artists and writers from all over the world and for several centuries.
It is on the extreme point of the promontory that divides the lake in the two branches of Como and Lecco. The town extends itself partly on the coast zone and partly on the slopes of the promontory.
Thanks to this particular location there is an extraordinary panoramic variety and the sight you can have over the whole lake. Also the extreme northern horizon of the Pre-Alps is perceived. Among the more suggestive panoramic points there are the park of Villa Serbelloni and the peak of the mountain St. Primo, from where, in particularly clear days, it is possible to see the Alps from the Monte Bianco to the Ortles and the Madonnina of the Duomo (cathedral) in Milan.
Bellagio, with its mild climate in winter and moderate in summer, with its characteristic historical centre and its luxuriant and various flowers, is a place of ideal stay for the ones who love the rest and the walks. It also offers during the summer different water sport structures.
In the high part of the town there is near a tower, the only part left of the ancient defensive system, the basilica of St. Giacomo, built by the Maestro Comacini. There are then the oratory of S. Giorgio and the rests of the church of S. Peter Apostle, incorporated in the Villa Serbelloni.
In Bellagio are also famous the villas, with the relative parks. Here, close to the local flora, rare and exotic plants are found in splendid gardens in Italian or English style. The park of Villa Serbelloni is considered one of the most beautiful villas in Italy, among Villa Melzi, Villa Poldi Pezzoli, Villa Giulia and Villa Belmonte. There are a lot of excursions and trips to do around Bellagio. One of the most known destination is the Park of the S. Primo mountain, that can be reached by car (14 kms). From here up to the peak there are about three hours of walk. You can reach the town on the other side of the lake by boat or hydroplane. The gastronomic specialties of the zone are lake fishes.
