Villa de Herra Castle is situated in Lenno, pretty small village with a particularly mild climate located in one of the most fascinating parts of the lake called “Tremezzina”, renowned for its luxuriant vegetation and its calm waters, at 27 km north from Como.
The apartment is situated on the second floor of a spectacular historic villa, surrounded by a lovely private park that enjoys a lovely lake front overlooking the Golfo di Venere (Gulf of Venus). The park with its lush vegetation and garden furniture provides places to relax and enjoy peaceful moments sitting reading a book in the sunshine. There is also a barbecue outside where you can enjoy also an al fresco lunch or dinner during the hot summer months overlooking the lake.
The lakeside promenade, very close to the villa, is one of the prettiest on Lake Como with its well kept gardens, restaurants and cafés where you can stop for a drink enjoying gorgeous views, villas, walkways, the naturally beautiful bay of Lenno and the famous Lido of Lenno, a lovely sandy beach providing sun beds and parasols where you can sunbathe or have a swim. When the sun goes down the Lido transforms and nothing is better that a walk on the golden sandy beach sand enjoying a cocktail in a unique atmosphere with candlelit seating. The lakeside restaurant is elegant and cosy offering a wide selection of local dishes but also international cuisine. After dinner you can dance on the beach with the best deejays of the area. The Lido is also often frequented by tv celebrities.
Walking further you can reach Villa Balbianello, where you can have a nice walk into its luxuriant gardens. You can get to the villa also by boat that leaves from the Lido of Lenno.

Apartment of around 50 sqm located on the second floor of an ancient lake front villa surrounded by a lovely park.
It develops on one floor composing of living room with double sofa bed, table and chairs, TV-SAT, kitchenette with large fridge, stove with four ring burners and oven. Double bedroom with wardrobe, chester draws and TV. Bathroom with shower. Sharing garden with barbecue. Private parking space. Bed linen and kitchenware included. Consumption costs included in the price.

Lenno is located in a deep inlet of the western bank of Lake Como, in one of the most fascinating parts of the lake called “Tremezzina”, renowned for its luxuriant vegetation and its calm waters.
The most beautiful villas, first from all Villa Balbianello spread out in this part of the lake. Villa Balbianello holds a fantastic position with views up and down the lake, with its gardens that are extraordinarily beautiful and its loggia that are absolutely worth a visit! A number of feature films have used the villa for location shooting, including Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones and the last 007 Casino Royale.
For those who like walking we recommend the “Greenway del Lago”, a wonderful walk along the lake discovering villas, gardens, Roman findings, quaint villages, restaurants, old Italian architecture, and expansive views. You can do the entire walk in one go in about 3 hours and a half, or if you prefer stop and continue with public transport. The whole Greenway is 10.5 km going through the villages of Colonno, Sala Comacina, Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo and Griante. The port of Lenno is connected with boats and hydrofoils of navigation to the main towns of the lake. Lenno has also a wonderful lake front promenade and a Lido with a fine sandy beach, restaurant, beach-bar and disco at night.
Not far from the village we find Giulino, where the morning of April 28th 1945, Benito Mussolini and Claretta Petacci were shot by the colonel Valerio in the Street XXIV Maggio. While in the high part of the Lenno you can visit the Abbey of the Acquafredda, dominating the whole village. From here you can reach through a safe mule track the Abbey of S. Benedict in Val Perlana, founded around the year 1080 within a two hour-walk.

Comments	Our apartment in Villa de Herra castle was perfect for our stay on Lake Como. We had no contact with the owner which was perfect for us as we like to be able to come and go whenever we like without disturbing anyone. The castle is situated right next door to the entrance to Villa Balbianello and right on the lake front promenade. There is a small market and a super market within 5 minutes walking distance and ample parking if you choose to rent a car like we did. The apartment contains a small kitchenette fully stocked with dishes, pots and utensils which is perfect if you want to save a little money by picking up something at the market to cook. The grounds are quite large and contain a lovely garden with barbeque grill and picnic table. The castle is also within a 5-10 minute walk of the Lenno ferry stop making other parts of the lake easily accessible by water. We loved our stay at the castle and the associates at Vecanze Lago were very helpful and accommodating to our needs and inquiries.
