Villa Azalea is an elegant villa situated in the heart of Menaggio, ancient village and touristic site located on the western shore of Lake Como, at the outlet of the Menggina Valley, in a strategic point for the communication with the northern part of the lake, Valtellina and Switzerland.
An elegant iron electric gate gives access to the villa, set in a quiet location. It can sleep up to 12 people therefore ideal for a group of friends or perhaps two families who wish to spend their holidays together. In the nice green garden, equipped with sun beds and barbecue, you can find a nice and quiet place to relax and sunbathe.
The villa is located on two floors; both with independent entrance, but also connected with internal staircase. The interiors are delightfully furnished and decorated with a mixture of antique and modern features.
You can reach the old town centre and it’s fascinating square within walking distance. You can enjoy walks along the splendid lake side promenade with its lovely flowerbeds offering a unique view of the central lake and set out excursions to visit the entire lake by boat or car.

TThe villa that spreads over two floors connected with each other by internal and external stairways, is 270 sq mt with 500sqm outdoor garden and large terrace on the first floor. From the garden an external stone stairway leads to the first floor composed of large elegant living room featuring antique ornaments, commode, sitting area with two comfortable sofas, TV_SAT, fireplace, dining area with solid wood table and chairs and large windows that open out on to a spacious terrace with table and chairs. Small single bedroom with window door opening onto the terrace. Bedroom with queen-size bed. A long hallway with a console and antique wardrobe leads to the bathroom with sink-wc-bath tub with shower; bedroom with two single bedrooms with wardrobe and master bedroom furnished with antique chest of draws, bedside tables and large wardrobe; access to private terrace; door that opens on the internal staircase leading to the ground floor. You can also have access to the ground floor directly from the garden; this floor is composed of kitchen with stove, fridge-freezer, oven, dishwasher, two dining table and chairs, TV-sat, two arm chiars; one bedroom with single bed; one bedroom with single bed and chair bed and double bedroom with wardrobe; two bathrooms with shower. Garage with laundry corner with washing machine.
Bed linen and kitchenware included.

EXTRAS
Towels to be brought.
Gas, electricity to be paid in regard to consumption (€0,45/kW e €1/m3).
Final cleaning 150€ to be paid upon arrival.
Pets welcome (€50 per pet per stay).
Wi fi internet connection available €15 per week.

CITY TAX (FROM THE 1ST APRIL TO THE 31ST OCTOBER 2012) : Euro 1,00 per person, per day - to be paid upon arrival for the first 10 nights. Children under 14 years do not pay.

Menaggio is situated on the western shore of Lake Como at the point where the road bordering the western side of the lake and the road leading through the Menaggio Valley and Lugano meet.
The town is composed of the centre and three hamlets Loveno, Nobiallo and Croce.
Thanks to its central position among the lake and the mountains, this town is the ideal starting point for all kind of excursions. You can visit the beautiful villas with their lovely gardens by boat, or take the bus or car to discover the valleys with their rural settlements and small Romanesque churches and by foot or mountain bike you explore the trails of the Val Sanagra Park, which is constituted by the homonymous basin and is very interesting thanks to its natural almost intact aspect. Several paths lead to the sources of " troi" from where Chiarella takes its water. The itineraries of "Sentiero delle 4 Valli" and "Via dei Monti Lariani"are also worth to be mentioned.
The most common destination is Rifugio Menaggio, at 1400 m of altitude.
In Menaggio you can find the second oldest Golf Club in Italy, it also boasts a sports centre and a big lido with a large beach with two pools, restaurant and beach bar. The town also has a public beach, a lovely crazy golf located on the lakeside promenade and a children’s playground.

Comments	We stayed one week - half september - in this villa with 7 ladies and we enjoyed it. Everyone had his own room, and the 3 bathrooms were sufficient and agreeable neat. Everything you need you can find in the house. It is almost in the centre of Menaggio, not far from the shops and supermarket, as well as the lake and the ferries; this is very pleasant. Also you can make a short walk nearby to the castellovillage on the hill. There is only a frontgarden, where you can lounge or eat; chairs and tables were comfortable. It is a pity, there is no view on the lake; over the roofs you can see the top of the mountains. For the rental price you cannot expect everything... The weather was still nice!

Comments	Villa Azalea more than met our expectations. We were three families with nine people and there was ample space for all, with modern amenities. The house is ideally located--in a quiet street but less than five minutes to downtown, waterfront, local bakery, grocery, and shops. We cooked fresh Italian food every day--local grocery was inexpensive--and relished every meal. Menaggio is also an ideal place to stay in Lake Como, easily accessible by ferry or road to other tourist sites. We were most impressed by the owner who is very nice and was very responsive to our needs and went beyond his call of duty in making us comfortable, not just in his home but in Menaggio and Lake Como. We plan to come back again and recommend strongly to our friends to stay at Villa Azalea at Lake Como. The only thing missing was a WiFi in the house (there are internet cafes in the town, though), but that may be a blessing for those who want to take time out from the internet and emails. We stayed at the villa for two weeks and wished it was longer....

Comments	Une maison bien faite pour accueillir un groupe d'amis ou une famille très nombreuse.(Pour information nous étions 9 adultes et 5 enfants dont 2 bébés.). Nous n'étions pas du tout serrés dans la maison. Les propriétaires sont accueillants et sympathiques. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les environs, les jardins fleuris en cette saison sont magnifiques. Il y avait une très belle lumière. Nous avons vraiment passé une très belle semaine de vacances.

Comments	Villa Azalea in Menaggio is an excellent choice for a group of families travelling together. It is spacious, well equipped and locating right in the centre of Menaggio all shops, restaurants etc. are within easy walking distance. Also all Lake Como attractions are really easy reached even without an own car. We will certainly come back again some day.

Comments	Excellent spacious accommodation with very friendly attentive owner. The area is pretty and the people kind and courteous. We love Lake Como and we go every year - the only thing we missed was a swimming pool. Overall I wish we had booked two weeks instead of just one
