Menaggio is situated on the western shore of Lake Como at the point where the road bordering the western side of the lake and the road leading through the Menaggio Valley and Lugano meet. The town is composed of the centre and three hamlets Loveno, Nobiallo and Croce. Thanks to its central position among the lake and the mountains, this town is the ideal starting point for all kind of excursions. You can visit the beautiful villas with their lovely gardens by boat, or take the bus or car to discover the valleys with their rural settlements and small Romanesque churches and by foot or mountain bike you explore the trails of the Val Sanagra Park, which is constituted by the homonymous basin and is very interesting thanks to its natural almost intact aspect. Several paths lead to the sources of " troi" from where Chiarella takes its water. The itineraries of "Sentiero delle 4 Valli" and "Via dei Monti Lariani"are also worth to be mentioned. The most common destination is Rifugio Menaggio, at 1400 m of altitude. In Menaggio you can find the second oldest Golf Club in Italy, it also boasts a sports centre and a big lido with a large beach with two pools, restaurant and beach bar. The town also has a public beach, a lovely crazy golf located on the lakeside promenade and a children’s playground.
